As lesões ortopédicas no esporte são iguais as demais lesões ? Em alguns casos são semelhantes porém frequentemente o mecanismo de trauma que ocorre durante a prática esportiva provaca lesões específicas do atleta, essas lesões com alguma frequencia requerem tratamento difereciado. Porque o tratamento das lesões do atleta é diferente? Não necessariamente o tratamento das lesões no atleta será diferente do restante da população, porém, em alguns casos precisaremos optar por tratamentos mais agressivos para permitir um retorno mais precoce as atividade físicas e que somente é alcançado nos indivíduos com uma massa muscular diferenciada e que vençam a dor do tratamento fisioterápico precoce.  Em algumas situações isso não é possível, algumas vezes pelas limitações impostas pela próprio trauma. Treatment of fractures

A fracture is a break or a crack in a bone. A fracture occurs when force exerted against a bone is stronger than the bone can structurally withstand. The most common sites for bone fractures are the wrist, ankle and hip. Treatment includes immobilising the bone with a plaster cast, or surgically inserting metal rods or plates to hold the bone pieces together.
